Another silvery laugh floated out of the trees, though this one was tinged with something else. An acknowledgement, perhaps. "And isn't that just the truth?" she asked, pulling herself onto a low branch and simply hanging there for a moment. She landed without a sound when she dropped, coming back toward him again.
"He did get off easy," she said after a moment. "Usually I play with them first and they're broken when they die. Usually the chase me more. That also leads to questions, you know? A trail of broken bodies leading to the Cirque, it makes the Ringmaster cross." She shrugged. "I'll have my fun eventually. I always do."
