The Cirque itself might have been thought of as a family to some but the image of Bitsy playing around with her dolls and the old woman tending to her grandchildren amidst the two trailers they occupied gave a far more family-friendly image than the Cirque actually held.
"Do not think I will not do so to you too, Nikolaos," Violette called back before picking Bitsy up and taking her inside to start the evening's meal. Whether old or young, Violette had always had a motherly authority that demanded her be the last word. She also managed to be soft and respectful to newcomers, more so than most of their family. Though it never did stop her from tricking gadje when necessary. She pat Nik on the shoulder as she passed him and gave him a smile.
"Mišto, nayís túke" Orion replied with a shrug. Orion tapped the dropper on the table next to him, pushing his lip up and gave another, more sarcastic shrug. "Nah, She's been having fun with the poppy market." Orion laughed. "She wouldn't want to kill me, she knows I'll just be reborn and then she'll have to take care of me all over again."
Light eyes studying the much larger frame of his cousin, Orion was constantly reminded that he looked more like his father than his mother's side. "Yeah, she's nice. We like to sit in long silences of awkwardly staring at one another and then drink until we can't remember anything. Best damn moonshine around."
