"It changes yet remains the same. It's a circle that way. Though I think for those of us who live more than one lifetime, it seems much more the same." The world was funny that way. History books could be written, a warning for those, a hopeful lesson for others. But the humans never seemed to learn. Not really. They just kept repeating the same things over and over hoping for another outcome, continuing on in the endless circle of insanity.
"Aye he's your familiar." Duncan nodded as he watched the cat with Conor. "Ye dinna choose your own. He's made special just for ye. Protect him and he will protect ye." If nothing else, he was familiar with... familiars. Over the years he came across a witch or two. He enjoyed learning from them. There was a respect there, much like his respect for the fae. While yes, they were quite delicious, Duncan did not wish to disrespect or cross lines with them. So he controlled his urges.
"So like a regular carnival then, with the disapproving looks from parents. Yet they are the ones that bring their wee ones to us. Humans... They are quite contradictory aren't they?" He was relieved to hear that there weren't usually supernatural attacks though, he wasn't sure just how many fights he could get in without getting himself killed for accidentally killing the wrong person or creature. Which would be a waste if it wasn't his intended target.
