Alright, that was fair. But until he actually coughed it up, he was going to fucking eat one way or another. At least he wasn't really arguing. Did she want to see the entry point? No, probably not. That was probably just a really bad idea. But also... She was curious. She was fearful. She wanted to know that he would be alright by having physical proof visible to her.
She breathed a heavy sigh as she listened, knowing this was going to turn into an argument of some sort. "Callum, I don't try to save everyone. I can't. I know that. You have no idea how many times I've seen people dead or dying and I have no idea who they are or what they are. I have to live with that. But when it's people here, my friends, I can't just sit idly by and do nothing. If it were me or Ana or Maddie or whatever, you wouldn't sit idly either. I admit the plantation was my fault. I shouldn't have pressed further. Danvers wasn't exactly anything I went looking for though."
"Was mesmerized?" she was nitpicking but she couldn't help it. She rubbed her face with her hands and shook her head, "It wasn't this bad before. It feels like something's happening and I think I've convinced the coven of that but... That's it." She didn't want it and she didn't need it and she didn't want to die. "I know you don't think I love you, even when I say I do. I know whatever's been happening hasn't exactly helped... And no, I won't stop when someone here needs me. I can't have that blood on my hands." Surely he understood that. "I just wish I knew another way to make you believe me."
Catherine pushed her fingers through her hair, frowning a little. "I don't exactly have another talent and I'd be a terrible roustie," she told him simply, "You know what I mean by change my species."
