Re: Marco, Callum, Rose, and OPEN
"Stay still," Rose instructed Callum, holding him down as he tried to sit up and gently batting his hands away as they sought out the wound on his side. It was delicate work, what she was doing: forcing his body to heal himself in a way that made removing the bullet easier. "You've been shot. We're working on it." Her voice was calm, reassuring. She registered Marco's sudden presence as she let the bandage drop, deeming most of the bleeding under control. She felt the silver just as Marco mentioned it, and though she wanted to curse she kept it inside. Nothing got done if any of them panicked.
Deeming most of the bleeding under control, she dropped the gauze she was holding to the wound and pulled on a pair of gloves, grabbing the medical tweezers out of her bag to probe for the bullet. She found a piece. Not as good as the whole thing, and it looked as though it had fragmented on impact. The shard she pulled out left a dull gray residue on her glove, and upon realization she really did want to curse. "Silver nitrate," she told Marco, showing him the piece and digging through her bag. "I think the bullet was coated with it, not fully made of it. Bastards." The stuff was corrosive even to humans, for all that they used it to stop bleeding. She came up with a large bottle of saline solution and tossed it to him. "Flush the wound. Now. That will neutralize the silver so you can work on getting the pieces out."
She dug in the bag again, this time coming out with a bag of saline solution and a large-bore IV cannula. Moving out of the way so Marco would work on the entry wound, she grabbed a disinfecting wipe to clean the inside of Callum's elbow, then swiftly inserted the IV with the ease of decades. She hooked the line up to the bag of saline, then a hand pump to get the fluid inside him as fast as possible to neutralize whatever silver was in his veins. Her magic raced alongside it, seeking to stave off as much damage as she could to give the saline time to work.
