The echoing laughter made her smile briefly. 'Well no one believes in magic anymore,' she sent back. 'More fool them.'
She'd read an article a while back, where therapists had used overwhelming emotion to retrieve repressed memories locked deep inside their patients' brain. They were breaking down the walls that held those memories in, why couldn't she try and do the same with this guy? Judging by his tone and stance, he was already annoyed. It wouldn't take much to turn that into full-blown anger.
"Me thinks he doth protest too much," she taunted. "Maybe you're pissed because you didn't get picked. Or you actually did believe but don't, and that's why you think we're all phonies. Hmm? Am I getting warmer?"
