"She's quite a gentle soul," Ghede answered, taking a drag from his cigarette. "Loves her animals like children.
"I'd like that, thank you," he replied. "And I do promise not to eat anyone. Why do that, when there's so much good food to eat instead? I've been glared at by folks before, and I came out alright in the end."
He smiled at Bitsy. "That's the best way to learn, from your family," he told her. "And I'm sure you'll make it wonderful, once you have it."
