Finnerty had been sitting upon her levered seat above the water when the large human glanced over to his female in time to see them exchange the money at the kissing booth. She did not have the time to climb down from her perch before the man hit her fellow employee, but she had gotten there in time before a second blow could be taken.
"Stop!" Finnerty grabbed the man and threw him backwards with the ease of a human twice his strength. Her small frame standing in-between Tristan and the man with her hands on her hips. The man had been ready to fight the newcomer until he saw it was the short woman. Her scales sparkled in coloured lights of the circus and pieces of her scant costume made it look like her fins were a prop for the dunk tank. (It had taken several confused comments before the costumers came up with a costume that worked.)
"He was doing his job, now go do yours and tend to your female before you both are kicked out." Fin might have looked innocent and was naive to humans, but being above the ocean allowed her to be stronger than the human patrons and her kind could be far more dangerous than some.
