This time, Elia held up her hands in surrender. "I was just checking," she offered, conciliatory, before lowering her hands again. He had said that he didn't intend to leave the trailer before, hadn't he? That he was staying there until the move – presumably because he wasn't quite himself outside of its protections. Even in the kitchen he had been shorter-tempered, he had seemed to just... burn hotter.
But behind the bedroom wards, he was calm enough to argue with her without losing his cool. "For whatever reason, I like your company," she shrugged, giving him a long look before turning back to the bed. "And since you're too focused and job-oriented to take me to bed, I guess I'll take what you're willing to give." It took a few moments longer, this time, to create the blanket of shadows – she even had time to give an annoyed twitch of her fingertips while her hand was outstretched before it appeared.
