Alex, there was another one, a gargoyle and not a witch. He'd have to remember to keep them straight. Alex had been the witch's name, right? Hell, he probably should have remembered that better since he'd asked the guy to make him a talisman. He'd figure it out.
Marco didn't have time to really get his thoughts together, Raine jumped from one subject to another with little transition - she was rapid, like a rabbit, which was interesting since he was sure she smelled nothing like a rabbit. "Before dawn, thanks," he offered as his mind swirled with the new information and trailed on the ends of Raine's verbal thoughts. "Oh, no, thanks. I just have to invest in a small freezer for meat, but I'm sure I'll be able to bring enough back after a hunt."
Marco was used to hunting solo, but he still enjoyed helping new members or those who no longer could hunt for themselves and depended on the Pack for support. That was what he missed most about the Pack. Support was always there even when you didn't think you needed it; the weight of being exiled still sat square on his chest like a weight he couldn't move. He could dwell on it later - instead he shook his head as if physically trying to rid himself of the thoughts before moving to keep up with Raine as she towards her favorite spot.
Eyes moved towards the statue that had once pissed Nick off. The idea that the statue was once human was not something that Marco was wholly able to wrap his mind around, however. Simply nodding a little with raised brows in confused-shock. "I'll definitely keep that in mind, too." Don't piss Nick off - he'd have to let Letha know to stay the fuck away from anyone named Nick. Check.
As Raine began to disrobe Marco's look of internal confusion shifted back to his normal blank look. The assumption, one shifter to another, was that she was going to shift which didn't make a lot of sense. They wouldn't be able to speak anymore. "Our territory was wolves only," he admitted in response to her question. He'd never met anyone that wasn't a wolf. "I mean, in a zoo," he answered with the same tone as he kept his gaze on her face. Not because he wasn't comfortable with nudity, but they were still getting to know one another and she wasn't a wolf.
