Despite the chaos that was currently throwing the rest of the cirque into chaos, at The Lady's Table it appeared to be business as usual. It was almost a relief to walk through the doors and feel immediately immersed in the routine of her job, crossing the floor to disappear into the back room so she could get changed.
It was always a bit hard for her to get used to new uniforms, as no restaurant that's she'd encountered really wanted their wait staff strolling around in the over-sized clothing she preferred. She had caught sight of some other girls in serving wench attire while wandering the grounds and had made it abundantly clear that she would not, under any circumstances, be sporting a corset, and was pleased to discover that the uniform at the Lady's Table was not nearly so restricting as all that. A fitted black button-down and a pair of matching pants hugged her lithe form, accentuating the length of her limbs in a way that baggy, Nik-sized teeshirts could not, and as she emerged into the kitchen she was already gathering her hair into a ponytail at the back of her head, leaving her features uncharacteristically exposed.
She gazed out at the still-empty dining room and did a quick check to ensure that all of the place settings had cutlery before making her way to the kitchen.
Slouching herself against one of the counters, she fixed Arnaud, the chef, with a skeptical look. Since she'd started he had presented himself as nothing short of ornery, and she had quickly learned that their working relationship was one that was going to test every shred of her patience if she wanted to keep this job. She was quiet, true, but was quick to bite back if provoked. The other wait staff already seemed to know to clear out of the kitchen on their more volatile days. It was baffling to her that this grumpy curmudgeon was one of Nik's oldest friends, and had voiced this opinion to her house-mate numerous times over the past few weeks. She wasted no time with pleasantries.
