For the first time since the nightmares started, Alexandru felt at peace again and he knew it was somehow due to Meredith, though he couldn't understand how she'd done it. He was grateful. More grateful than he could possibly explain and while he was holding her, he did not try. Only when she finally moved, did he ease his hold on her so she could lower onto her feet though she didn't move away.
Her fingers were in his hair and Alex watched her expression carefully, subdued. "I have tea," he told her, his thumb moving against the small of her back. She was petite, but not so petite that she didn't fit against him where she stood now. His troubling thoughts were gone now, but he hadn't fallen back into his normal happy persona. "And movies."
There was a spell over him though, a spell that kept him from moving even though he'd said enough to facilitate that. After a long moment, the reverie broke and he drew back just a little, falling into step beside her. His home wasn't far from where they were. "I'm not disturbing your plans, am I?" Alex asked.
