Ana blinked a few times, because she wasn't really sure how to respond to that. "You're Scottish, why would you be able to read Irish?" she pointed out, fairly reasonably, she thought. "And let's be real, you're about the only person she does allow to help her, but you aren't Superman. You can't fix everything."
The waitress returned with their drinks, and she poured a beer for herself and drained a third of it before speaking again. "Why is it suddenly important that you don't have abs?" she asked, cocking her head at him. "I wouldn't have thought it mattered much to either of you. Lastly, and most importantly: you are not awful, OK? Really not."
