"I did not say that, now did I? It was simply a surprise. You look as lovely as ever," Oded pointed out, amused. He was quite surprised, yes, but pleased as well. Her outfit had the touch of Lily's influence and he was reassured that taking Esme shopping had been a wise choice in his favor. Those long legs were tantalizingly tempting, but he was ever the gentleman around his young companion. She was clearly enjoying the change, being deliciously sensual in ways she obviously wasn't aware of.
His eyebrow arched as she held out a wooden box and he took it from her with a smile. When she'd said she'd gotten him a gift, Oded had expected something smaller, more casual, but the box itself spoke of something more and he opened it. Inside lay two finely crafted glasses. By the look of them, they were not cheaply acquired, and there in the straw was a ring. He lifted it out and turned it in the light. "How enchanting!" Oded enthused, setting the box down. "Esme, darling, thank you. The glasses are works of art and this ring, why I have just the ward in mind to imbue to it."
Reaching out, he brushed her hair back as he looked down at her. Indeed, Oded recognized the affection in her fine gifts, the level of attachment she had for him to find such unique treasures and just for him. Certainly, he was used to being showered with gifts, expensive and opulent, but they were not chosen with care or adoration as he saw in Esme. "Mere words fail me in light of your thoughtful gifts. A simple thank you is woefully insufficient," Oded said, slipping his hand under her hair to cup her ear with his palm. "May I kiss you, little wolf?"
