There was a little mischievous smirk, and faux seriousness in his tone as he said, "Would be a shame to let these old bones get too stiff."
He was incredibly lucky that Elaine allowed him that. Though, as always, the thought of his beautiful, perfect wife, brought a little cloud of sadness over him. He missed her, missed them all, and would given anything to have them with him once more.
Still, he couldn't spend more than a moment on them. Especially not with Issac around. This was, actually, not due to his telepathic tendencies. True, he wasn't eager on Issac picking up those thoughts. It had more to do with habit, him needing to stay present in the moment with the young man in front of him. Years before, Issac needed him to stay present to help him, to support him.
Now... well, that was why he left when he did. Issac was a young man. He wasn't needed. He could finally search again, though home called more strongly than it had in ages. His smirk softened into a more genuine smile. Issac could sense the magic in it. He could feel how special it was.
One piece of home united with another.
"More or less." He shrugged, "I've been all over, once again." Always searching. Always hoping. He knew that one was definitely out there, now. He could feel it. He just couldn't tell where they were.
"And what have you been up to while I've been gone?"
