Alex drew in a shaky breath, pushing his hair out of his eyes. "I was just gonna say, you might have to give me a minute." His laugh was slightly breathless, and his heart felt like it might just break through his ribs.
He took a few deep breaths and looked down at himself. He'd calmed down a bit and he'd probably be able to walk, but there was no way to spin how he looked as anything else. He shrugged. He'd lost his sense of shame somewhere around his freshman year of college.
"Alright," he said, banking the fire under his cauldron. "I can probably manage now." He opened the door and extended a hand to her. "Shall we?"
