Did you wake up here? was sort of a big question, wasn't it? "No," she answered simply, turning her attention to the Cauldron for a long moment, as if she were considering how it might be binding him to the circus. In reality, that wasn't a thing that she had to wonder, but that was really neither here nor there. No matter the real reason, she took her time to feel out the magic literally bubbling up from the center of the circus. There were layers upon layers of magic, spells woven through and around more spells, twined with different kinds of power. She could sense the magics of the witches, along with power from some of the Wyldfae, and the deeper, ancient magic that she supposed belonged to the mysterious Management.
After that moment, her eyes ticked back up to Max's, interested if not exactly warm. His magic wasn't entirely foreign to her, dark and cold as it was, although she hadn't had enough time to put her finger on it. "No, I came with my Queen and her Court. I'm afraid I'm new to... all of this." Her gaze moved over his shoulder, surveying the community of tents and gardens before returning. "And so I'm afraid that I can't offer much help with your problem. You think it's intentional, then? That you aren't being allowed to leave?"
