"The best way to die," Lamb agreed with a nod. "Why would you want to die old and feeble? Pointless, a waste of body." It was easy for Lamb to say, since nothing could kill her except someone magically finding a way to destroy her true spirit form. She was ancient and didn't know death, except as something that she could cause in others.
"The pain doesn't arouse me," Lamb told him after considering it for a short time. "I cause it because it interests me. I have been in flesh for hundreds of years now but this pain is still interesting." A quick sideways yank at the hook and a blinding flash of pain. She shook her head to try and clear it again. "I like that I can hurt. It's different."
