"Perhaps we'll both be out of the way in the same place, at some point," he replied, smiling. "And sometimes I have the same problem, though...likely not for the same reason as you." He tapped two fingers on his temple. "I hear thoughts. Though I try to keep it mostly closed off, folks don't need me to go trampling through their minds." His look changed to one of consideration, considering the flush of color in her face. "And you're not looking for trouble, is that it?"
"I suppose because it's not terribly flashy." He shrugged. "But that's not why I do it, you know? They need someone to guide them, to navigate the life beyond death. Because you're right, no one wants to be stuck. So I do what I can."
