Brows furrowed at his answer. Napping in the forest had been something she heard humans did, but then his own comment on the viability of her clothing in this environment gave her more questions on his lack of it if he had been merely napping. Human forms were hard to read and the air a strange sort of element that did not carry information in the same manner as water did.
She shook her head, suspicious of his motives. "How do you what I am? Don't humans usually think we have tails?"

Finnerty had learned English from listening to humans since she had been taken and locked away, but there were a great many items and words that were foreign to her. Furthermore, Finnerty's bloom (family) had been from the Atlantic Ocean where English had not been spoken by the first humans she had ever interacted with. Her memories of the persons she had been in the past did not remain but main of the languages she had picked up over the centuries had remained.
