The fact that Gwen snuck up on her was both a testament to the shifter's skill and to Rhine's distraction. She jumped at the touch, the curtain falling closed as she half-turned with wide eyes. The redhead's friendly, familiar face was a relief to see, and Rhine drew a deep breath. A little embarrassed, the tops of her cheeks colored faintly. "A little, yeah..."
It was difficult to explain, but Rhine had always worked her magic from a distance, singing people to their deaths and then immediately thereafter enjoying them for dinner. This was different. These were close quarters, and the whole atmosphere was very intimate. Getting to know her supper was... well, nerve-wracking on the one hand, but also a tiny bit appealing.
Despite her nerves, Rhine grinned at the idea that her performance would give anyone a reason for living, offering a slight shake of her head. Before she could demur charmingly, though, she found herself gathered close into Gwen's arms, snuggled against the other woman's rather enticing bosoms. Still, the kindness of it made her smile (and the close contact didn't hurt, certainly), and Rhine relaxed into the hug, leaning her head on Gwen's shoulder lightly. "Thank you. I think I'll be happy if I just make it through without embarrassing myself... I've never done this before, or anything like it."
