Did Mona want to see them afraid, cowering before whatever it was this woman could do? A part of her did, but so much more of her didn't want to go anywhere near them. Not right now. Not yet. Besides, surely they wouldn't be dumb enough to stay where they had been? If Mona was going to mug people, she'd make sure not to be there when the person called the police.
Damn it. Mona should call the police probably. She didn't want to do that either. Couldn't cirque security deal with it? Was Dia security?
"Maybe," Mona half-agreed, although the idea of going out didn't really appeal to her right now. Maybe it would later, and with the idea of someone tough at her side. But Mona also knew how much she enjoyed her solitary outings into the city, listening to music and stories and poetry and no one knowing who she was.
She licked her lips again. "Would you walk me back to the house?"
