WHO Khalida & Issac
WHEN April 16, after this
WHERE Khal's rooms
WHAT Taking care of the poor crazy boy
WARNINGS tba
The flowers-and-stolen-items goings on weren't the first upheaval the cirque had felt over the years and it certainly wouldn't be the last. Khalida had been avoiding the flowers, but there seemed to be no real danger present from everything that was happening.
That was until Nadine had sent her the text that read: Issac lost Talisman. Needs you and Hafsa. Meet at home?
Khalida had lost a pair of earrings. Precious to her in many ways, yes, but if they were never returned Khalida would survive. Such wasn't the case for Issac's talisman. She'd sent back a reply to Nadine immediately, saying she would be ready and waiting for their arrival.
When Issac arrived he was a mess - wild-eyed and bloody and looking so so young. Khalida wanted to bundle him up and find a way to keep him safe, but for Issac the danger was within himself. Khalida understood that in a way. No, it was not the same, but she knew what it was like to be haunted.
So she spoke gently to him while she tried to wash away the blood, being as tender as possible. The wounds weren't as bad as they looked - head wounds rarely were; they liked to bleed so terribly that it was sometimes a relief once they'd been cleared. Khalida had the smallest scar just under her hairline, and she remembered how much blood that tiny wound had managed.
No, Issac she could look after here. He wouldn't need the doctors. Just water and some antiseptic before she tucked him into her bed where he would be safe.
When she returned to the room if was with a cup of sweet peppermint tea, the type she had grown up with in Tunisia, the type she'd always given to Nadine and Issac and the other kids when they were feeling unwell. She sat down on the side of the bed and reached out to stroke his hair.
