Mona raised her eyes to Nadine slowly. "All the death," she told her quietly. Then she tucked her hair behind her ears and let her fingers drag down the length of it before they reached the table again. She really hoped no one was listening in on their conversation, but she did want to talk about it all, as sick as it made her feel.
"I was so excited about meeting all these different creatures that I sort of ignored what that meant. Like... I talked to vampires and asked them questions, but didn't let myself ask the big ones. You know, the ones about killing people? And I met Elia and she's been so nice to me and I really like her, but then she's talking about throwing people into a void and making human sacrifices and when I talked to my other sister about this she told me I needed to basically get over it and-"
She took a deep, shuddering breath and squeezed her eyes shut, realising her voice was getting louder. When she spoke again, she made sure her voice was lower even as it wavered. "I just don't know how to deal with all this."
