WHO Mona & Nadine WHEN 6am, 12th April WHERE Somewhere in the city with pancakes WHAT A very human meeting. WARNINGS talk of death and other circus activities
Back in her room, Mona had peeled herself out of her work costume and tossed it all onto the bed before putting on her own much more comfortable clothes, in this case jeans and a green t-shirt. In her weeks in New Orleans, the temperature didn't seem to be much different than back home in Las Vegas, but what was different was the humidity. The air felt damp with the warmth here. It was a change for someone who'd never previously even left Nevada.
But, in the larger scheme, humidity was the smallest change Mona was having to deal with in her life.
She made her way to the gate, the sunrise changing the look of the circus even as she passed through it. Mona smiled when she saw the woman she recognized as Nadine, grateful that she had reached out and offered her friendship.
"Hi," she said as she reached her. "You must be Nadine."
