Re: Triple C Brigade
Callum groaned at Catherine's insisting that he be nice. And of course the hellhound would win! "You make it sound like that's all I'm worried about, here," he sighed, "Look, I'm not saying you're not important. You're very important. To me, yeah? That's why I don't want you to do this."
He pursed his lips when she glared at him and then started to continue forward, taking out her phone.
Callum's brows furrowed when Catherine retorted that he didn't have to do anything. But then told him to run. To run and get Kennet. As fast as he bloody could-- which probably wouldn't have been that fast at all, because yeah, he was in a bit of pain.
'but... Go.'
That was it? That, and her lovely, sad smile? His eyes searched her expression until, well, he couldn't, as she turned to follow the hellhound deeper into the grounds.
Well.. but.. why did she need Kennet? Were things that bad. They seemed that bad. What was he supposed to even say?
Hi, Kennet. We don't always get along, and I am covered in mud and look like shit, but would you please come help me, Timmy is in the well?
And what made Catherine even think that he would want to leave her side?? Especially if she was putting herself in so much danger‽ it seemed like she was anyway.
He was torn. Hesitantly dragging his gaze away, he glanced down. Did he do what she told him to do? Or did he defy her wishes and stay with her to help keep her safe?
In going with the fact that he could never win a fight with a hellhound, that also meant Caleb was a fuck of a lot stronger than him. Stronger than Callum could ever hope to be, really. Not that that was something he was ever too worried about. He had his werewolf strength. But.. maybe he was just dead weight when it came to all of this. The hellhound would protect Catherine. Better than he could.
Worrying his bottom lip with his teeth, he looked back up toward Scooby and Velma. Scoob waited for no one. Velma looked a bit more cautious, but not scared. Dropping his gaze back down again, he turned to start back toward the carnival grounds.
He was more sensitive to dark energies, Elia had said. Maybe if he stayed, the dark energies would leave Catherine alone? That was probably just wishful thinking. But Elia had also said, in addition to his help, he would provide another layer of protection for their seer-- Catherine.
Shit, shit, shit.
He only got a few steps back before he hruffed, "fucking hell." Reaching up to push his fingers back through his hair, Callum turned once again to continue on behind the two others, though a fair good space between them, now.
