His teasing prompted a faint smile before her focus returned to his arm. She worked with the ease of long practice, her magic seeking out the torn and injured places and gently coaxing them back together until his arm was once again whole, skin smooth and unscarred as she took the injury from him. As his healed, the phantom pain in her arm grew until it was as if she had been the one that was bitten. There was no blood, no mark, but the pain would be there until her body worked through it, healing the ghost of his wound that she had absorbed. The cost of her magic, but one she never minded paying. She'd been using the ability since she was a child, and there were few illness or injuries she hadn't experienced secondhand in the same way.
There was no indication of the pain save a faint tightening around the eyes, and she rubbed her arm once before catching herself and wiping down his newly-healed arm with a sterile cloth just to make sure she'd gotten everything - her instincts told her she had, but it was always better to check with her own eyes before turning someone out to their own devices. "And there you are," she said, once she was sure she'd gotten everything sealed up. "Good as new. How does it feel?"
