Eden listened to Gabriel talk about his experiences.
“I knew supernatural things existed,” he stated softly, head canting to the side as he thought for a moment to himself. His eyes had wandered up to the ceiling and when the cloud of his mind cleared he glanced back at Gabriel again. “I’m more familiar with witches than anything. There’s a small coven in my town, there isn’t any avoiding them.” Small but powerful.
“I’ll admit that I was surprised by the spectrum of other things. I’ve only been here a few days and I’ve met a couple of interesting people that I had no idea actually existed outside of stories.” Eric had been especially intriguing. Who knew that Merfolk would be so fascinating? They had a few things in common, too.
“Feel free to ask me anything. If I can answer I will. If not then...well, it’s probably a good thing there isn’t an answer to that question.” Safer. It was much safer to live in the future than the past. Eden could only hope that the circus never went to his old town.
