Dinner was now one of those things that fell by the wayside. His attention was no longer for the steak tacos but solely for the man sitting across from him at that small table. Blessed with the close proxemity Eden hadn’t worried about that small shift, it had come and gone. The reaction had been what Eden wanted and he’d been graced with it.
While Eden was known to be boastful about his abilities he appreciated the willingness on Gabe’s part to maintain that illusion. “Mhm,” he replied, a coy grin on his lips. Again he felt that surge of pride. There was nothing humble about him, but he was smart enough to understand boundaries.
“Oh you haven’t seen anything quite like me,” Eden purred softly. It was then he purposefully pulled his attention away from Gabriel and went back to the tacos he’d neglected earlier. They were still so good.
