The snake was a she. Eden found the fact that he was unable to distinguish gender on a reptile amusing. Not that it mattered but his experience with snakes was slight, at best. He’d gone through the motions of holding snakes and tempting insects during trips to Nature Preserves during his younger school years but those experiences were nothing like what was occurring now.
“I’m not even going to try to pronounce that, I’d probably butcher it. But its fitting. Beautiful. The way it falls off your tongue makes it sound almost godly...” maybe the compliments were heavy but he meant them. And he was trying to be cordial for the sake of new conversation.
When asked his name Eden grinned, “Eden. What about you? Or do you just go by the Amazing Cobra lady?” He was teasing her, he hoped she was the playful type. All he needed was a snakebite.
