The reaction of the serpent coiled around her neck didn’t go unnoticed, Eden could sense its discomfort but made no move to correct his actions in its favor. While he appreciated the lethal nature of the serpent he wasn’t particularly fond of snakes and considered them one of those creatures beneath his stature (one of a good many). He didn’t fear them but he wasn’t stupid enough to overlook them in the heat of the moment either. Here at Circque Eden needed allies. He was new. A friend in an unlikely place could be potentially beneficial to both of them.
There was something to be said about her demeanor as she explained about the cobra. He didn’t question it.
“Not really,” Eden replied. “To be honest I think they’re pretty. Cobras especially. The rattlers make too much noise.” There were precious few things Eden was terrified of. This was beginning to strike him as the type of place that would draw those things out sooner rather than later.
