"If I carry all the treats in one pocket, though, the horses will eat them all and there'll be nothing left for you." Winny chirped, still smiling, watching him swim. She wished she was more of a fan of the water, because it would mean another way to connect with him, this strange man, this strange murder horse that was pretty much her boss. But she was content to watch him swim, content to stay where she was, as far as she would ever get into the river without, at the very least, a life jacket or some swimming lessons.
"It's good that they accommodated you." She told him, stretching out underneath the water and letting it soothe the muscles that had been cramped from sitting for hours on a plane. "Do they do that sort of thing often? I don't need anything special, myself. But I do want to explore, get a chance to see everything this place has to offer." She watched as he came closer, as he got up and walked by her, noting those bruises all over his body and frowning deeply.
But she didn't want to talk about them, or the dolls, not when it was obviously a touchy subject for the people here, not when she was making progress with Ivarr. He sank down next to her and she felt mostly at ease, with the sun starting to sink in the sky and the alcohol making her feel a bit hazy. Of course, he was still a predator who would gladly eat her if she wasn't a Cirque employee, but they were connecting, she thought, even if it was on a superficial level, Winny plying him with whiskey and chocolate chips.
He came to her, sinking down beside her, and she reached out for the bottle, taking a few quick swallows before passing it back. "Am I? Good. I want to make friends here. And you're practically my boss, given that you manage the stables." She smiled at him, bumping her shoulder against his own. "I'm really looking forward to meeting the horses. I know you take really good care of them, I could see that in the few minutes I had in the stables."
