"The Nile does not care how well you swim," she chided, sitting down on the rock close to the bank on which she was standing. From here, her feet could reach the water and instead she kept them close to her, not tempting the great river. Fascination kept her bright golden eyes trained on the man as he sank lower beneath the current. Many people had lost their lives to the Nile, and Khepri wondered if the river could claim yet another right before her eyes.
Leaning back on her hands, Khepri kept her place on the bank. Her warning would be her only interference with the fate of this man, as she would not willingly slip into the water. "You are a curious one," she called out so as to be heard over the rush of the current. "Are you eager to seek someone in the Duat?"
