Gabe thought he was sweet and, with Gabe, he was. He was generally friendly with other people too. So far, only Lucas had seen his other side, the merman who had waged bloody wars down in the deep and saw most humans as walking meals, a propensity born from the scarcity of resources down on the ocean floor. What would happen if Gabe saw that side of him? What would happen if Eric's teeth and claws had to grow, elongate, even in defence of Gabe?
Eric didn't want to think about it. He wanted to snuggle close to Gabe, keeping him against his bare chest, feeling the warmth of him even through Gabe's shirt. He had to let him go, though, to get the presents Gabe said would cheer him up, and he pressed another kiss to his cheek before he did, settling back against the couch to watch him go.
When he was passed the pillow, he held it in his lap, running his hand over it and watching it change with fascination. But he was quickly more fascinated by the lava lamp, sitting forward and watching Gabe switch it on, paying attention to which way the switches went so he could replicate it later on. And, when the wax started to bubble and the wave sounds came on, he beamed up at Gabe. "Is amazing." He said happily, eyes focused on it still even as he reached up an arm to draw Gabe back in. "Come, we watch. Other things later." He promised, wrapping an arm around Gabe's shoulder and watching, fascinated, as a green bubble slid against a blue bubble.
