It was a surprise to see who had accompanied Mona to the clinic; Rose gave him a nod of recognition but kept her primary focus on Mona. Now wasn't the time to reminisce. "I'm going to heal you," she told Mona, keeping a hand on her forehead for a moment before reaching for supplies. "You'll feel better right away, but your body's still going to need time to recover. So I'm going to put in an IV now to help rehydrate you, and you're going to rest in this bed for a few hours before we send you home."
She was doing the mundane before the magical because experience told her that her hands would be less steady once she took Mona's illness; despite the fact that it only felt like she was sick until her body worked through it and she wasn't actually going to be sick, there was no point making it harder on herself. So she hooked Mona up to the IV, setting up a slow drip on the small bag. "This is just saline solution," she told Mona, laying a hand back on her forehead to prep for the healing. "You may feel me working," she warned, "but it won't hurt. All right?"
She called on her magic, sending it into Mona like a gentle rush of cool water.
