Jennifer gave John a smile and shrugged. "It would've been nice to have been there since the beginning but I'm not complaining," she said. "As for what I was doing before Atlantis - I worked in a hospital in Chicago. It was a semi-military hospital, which is how the SGC found me. I liked it, though. I'm from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin and when my mom passed away a few years ago, I wanted to stay there to take care of my dad. He wouldn't have it, though, so I got a job in Chicago so I was close to him. I think that's one of the hardest things about being on Atlantis - my dad's no longer a car ride away."
She paused and decided she wasn't going to bore John with her life story. Instead, she found herself melting against him as they kissed. When they pulled apart, she found herself giggling at John's question. "Yes, it was an invitation," she said with a grin. "However, it's kinda hard to make-out at a table so..."
Jennifer scanned the room with her eyes before standing. She took John's hand and tugged him up from his chair, and took him to the couch. Once they were sitting again, Jennifer scooted closer. "This is better," she said before leaning close and kissing him again.
