Bella visibly winced at the term monster, to her the baby, Renesmee, even in the womb was not a monster. She was only doing what she had to do to survive and Bella’s body was not strong enough to hold itself together in the end but that was her fault not the babies. “She’s fine, I think. I didn’t get to see her, everyone thought..” Bella trailed off and looked away for a moment.“..Because I’m a newborn, it might not have been safe for me to be around her.” She finished finally, looking back over at Jacob. “I was going to see her before ending up here.”
No, Alice definitely wouldn’t have agreed. Bella laughed too, “she would have me changed the second she saw me.” She grinned, “and I think she took her time picking out this outfit too.”
“Ugh, do I look that bad?” Bella complained, the thought of going through all the effort of tidying herself up again was a stressful one. Although after his words sunk in she felt the confusion wash over her features again, “I have a room?”
Bella let him lead her toward the living quarters without much protest and her mood lifted considerably at what he had to say. She smiled softly, or at least as softly as she could manage in the situation. “Gee, don’t go overboard with the compliments there.” She teased. “No, but really? I know you haven’t always been fond of the idea.”
