He smiled back at her, feeling determined not to let anything happen to her.
John chuckled when she defended herself and then stuck out her tongue. She looked cute that way. "Alright, not afraid of fish", he agreed with a smirk, but also felt relieved that it didn't seem to have bit her. They were in unfamiliar territory and who knew what kind of fish they had here.
When she reached over to touch his hair John looked at her a little surprised. "Hey, my hair looks exactly like it's supposed to", he said pretending to look insulted. The truth was that he had never been able to manage his hair to look any other way. His mother had almost gone crazy trying to tame it when he was little. But he liked it the way it was.
"Don't tell me you don't like it", he added crossing his arms over his chest.
When she splashed water at him again he tried to do the same, but she was already out of reach. Not fair! He rushed after her anyway.
"I'll get you for that", he said when he was out of the water and standing infront of her. Then he grabbed his towel and had a look around again.
