As soon as the buildings appeared around them, Kadaj instinctively reached for the hilt of his katana, the warrior making sure he had his weapon. He hadn't actually needed Souba after death but since he kept his soul, rather than dispersing into the Lifestream, he had also kept the sword. His second reaction was to glance around, looking for his brothers.
Yazoo was there right by him. Two pairs of green eyes, their cat-like pupils expanding in the night-time light, briefly exchanged looks of surprise. Both of them knew townscapes didn't appear like this unless they wanted the setting to form around them.
"Where's Loz?" Yazoo wondered. He pulled his gunblade from its holster as he spoke. The man with long silver hair turned on his heel and looked around at the seemingly deserted streets.
"In here maybe," Kadaj suggested, waving his double-bladed katana at the nearest door.
The two young males found themselves in some kind of lobby. They stopped right inside the door, their weapons in their left hands, as their eyes quickly adjusted. The shorter one with silver-white hair just brushing his black-clad shoulders held a katana. The other, nearly identical save for hair-length and his gunblade, noticed just a fraction of a second quicker that they weren't alone.
"Where are we and what did you do with our brother?" Kadaj demanded.
