"Yeah," Laurel answered, at Matt's question. "Life can get kind of grim living in Starling City, but there's something about nurturing new life..." she trailed off and laughed at herself. "It's silly, I know. But they're pretty and it brightens up my place a bit."
She looked over at Matt in surprise, taking note that he was the sort to fight for his independence and to prove people wrong about his own limitations. She admired that.
"I have to admit that I can't cook for the life of me. I don't know what it is, but most things end up a little.. extra crispy, if you catch my drift." She realized that wasn't the most attractive thing to admit, but she'd never been one to mislead anyone if she could help it. "What's your specialty dish?"
