It wasn't a promise, but Me took another sip of brandy all the same, to work herself up to it.
"I've met plenty of machines with artificial intelligence. Most of them were quite useful, friendly even. I understand your religion's objective but banning all machines capable of thought because someone's flawed design millennia ago? You said it yourself that faith produces fanaticism. Problem with having faith is you can't always recognize it."
Setting down the glass, Me frowned, "I tried getting into the engine up front to find out what the train was, but its locked. Perhaps if I dedicated myself to doing nothing but attempting to figure out a way in, I could find something eventually, but there's no guarantee how long that would take."
