"I've seen them come and go," Me said of religion. She looked the governor in the eyes when she took her first small sip of brandy and did a double take at the glass. Somehow, finding small delights in food and drink still managed to surprise her, no matter how old she got.
"I don't remember a Giedi Prime or Arrakis," Me said, not certain if it was because she hadn't heard of them or because she had long forgotten them. "Do you miss it? Being there?"
No one overtly seemed to cry for help. No one tried to stop the train or make it reverse course. Me didn't think she'd call the passengers happy to be on the train, but there was a lack of shouting, pleading, arguing that usually came with abduction.
