[photostory] Duty & Distance
Djedefra: (You know, I feel you simply don't draw enough cats.)
Diderot: Would you quit breathing sardines all over my sketchbook? Honestly.
Bellamy: I wonder if Amandine and Arouet are having a good time on their trip.
Dart: (A tasty drink! Is it for me? Can I smell it?)
Diderot: I daresay they are. Amandine is an excellent traveling companion, and Arouet hasn't been to Paris since the French Revolution was on.
Bellamy: Man, that's gotta be weird for him. I wonder how he's taking it?
Diderot: ...More importantly, I wonder why you didn't talk to him before they left.
Bellamy: It's not like I didn't try to. I just... I didn't know what to say.
Bellamy: Seriously, how do you even do that? Right up and say, "Hey, you know, actually we're twins, our dad's the Lord of Time, and basically we're just screwed if we want a normal life"? Come on, Aramis.
Diderot: Well, not how I would put it, but it's a good deal better than telling him nothing at all.
Bellamy: I don't know about that. Right now, Arouet thinks he's normal. Well, as normal as a time-skipped aristocrat can be. He doesn't know about our parents, he doesn't know what he is. Hell, even I don't know what he is. We're different. Maybe he is normal. And maybe I'm just jealous.
Bellamy: You say it doesn't bother you, that you'll grow old and I won't. But it bothers me.
Diderot: I made my choice a long time ago, Bellamy. I wouldn't change it.
Bellamy: Come on, you've never wished for a normal boyfriend? Or do you honestly want a half-insane, Torchwood-addicted, twelve-foot-tall Time Lord for a father-in-law?
Diderot: Honestly, I want you. Everything else is irrelevant. And I think maybe you should give your brother a little more credit. You chose love over power, why shouldn't he?
Diderot: Although if your powers were any use in disciplining cats, that would be helpful, too.
Bellamy: Djedefra! What are you doing!
Djedefra: (What are you complaining about! The bottle's empty, right?)
Dart: (It is now, anyway.)
I love these two boys. <3
I got a tripod for my birthday! And challenged it by doing a full-blown photoshoot in the weird-lighty bedroom after dark! Seriously, even my carefully rigged lighting setup can't keep Bellamy from looking green and empty-eyed in some of these shots. All the same, it's much less blurring than usual.
This story is sort of a filler-in, since all the old stories are down and we don't have the new site up. I just missed my boys and wanted to give them a little love. Maybe next I'll do Amandine and Arouet in Paris!
