Heaps of Dolls for January!
Sorry for the long absence, holidays make for limited posting time, though it was filled with a wonderful array of resin. We not only had it come to visit us (some longer than others, I still have three heads waiting for paint), but some of it came home to stay.
There's four cut texts here, but I'm warning you now, there's a massive ton of pictures in this post. It may take a while to load. You might want to make a sandwich, or perhaps learn Sanskrit. Also, I am a perfectionist, my camera and bedroom lighting is more of an avant garde collective. Rarely do we agree on the outcome of our collaborations. The greenish yellow color shift is not indicative of resin color, just of the fact that I should only shoot pictures outside, in the sunshine.
These fellas belong to jana and hurricane rave. But they are always welcome here, as I like to paint them and clothe them and take pictures of them in secret when their owners have gone to bed. .....Uh. Ha Ha! ^_^;
awww.
meanwhile, Spider is a Rock Star.
and he knows it.
Haelee is content with being the Cute One.
and some others just turn up when they're told to and hold still and hope maybe it'll be over soon.
He thinks he's doing serious work.
Spider looks like he's feeling up the monkey to see if it's fat enough to eat yet. I'm worried that Rama is doing the same, in vain. (I keep slipping donuts in his bento boxes! nothing works! Convinced now he is an alien. Or a vampire. Or an alien vampire. unless Gackt already did that one.)
(Iz was hard to paint. ^^;;;)
Issachar Fado (Char) is a resinsoul tan song. He is small and wide eyed and wonderful and I love him embarrasingly much.
His hair will be arriving sometime in the next month or two, along with the last big box we're going to get for a while. (unless the birthday fairy sends me a blue merboy from Resinsoul, who I would not turn away at the door. *_*) This wig is temporary. again, color disparity=camera, he is a really beautiful chai latte color all over. Very creamy. I can't say enough good about this company.
Ginkgo (gink) was a free Yu as part of resinsoul's New Year promo. Yes. Free. With faceup and eyes and bag. *_* Her wig is in the mail as well, and it is shamelessly pink. She'll have it in big rave ball ponytails in no time.
Vltava (tava) is a white resinsoul Ju. Her ears are fantastic, and her hair is green. None of the clothes I had made ahead of time fit her. Oops. Once I get her something to put on, I will take more shots.
And oh, yeah. We ordered these dolls new from the company and they had them to our door in under three weeks. They come with free bags. The dolls are fully sanded. The resin is lightweight, but sturdy and not thin, and there are no air bubbles or flaws that I've found. They are strung loose to ship and are not posemobiles, but the sculpture of them is beautiful. You can get them in zany colors like pink and green, and the basic faceups are very nice, and $10. they have magnetic headcaps, but no s-hooks in feet and hands, being strung directly. They're also very affordably priced. Because they are not easy posers, and because their sizing is a little off from standard MSD, I don't know that I would proclaim them ideal first dolls. They do have some sculpt quirks, but I don't find them a detraction in any way. As far as I'm concerned, they are excellent quality for the price, great first-mod projects, and just the thing if you want a dolly treat that won't put you back a grand. They were our christmas present to each other, and I couldn't be more pleased with them. Even feisty little Gink, who I had no idea I'd like so much.
I wanted to take a bunch of pictures of Issachar to show how pretty his sculpt is. Resinsoul dolls often get lumped in with bobobie (which has different sculpts and faceups, but the same casting facility and resin colors), so I wanted to show off the RS body some. Especially his knees and the backs of his hands and his perfect ears and--
er.
well, because the light gave him a blotchy yellow cast, I made these shots sepia. It shows off the sculpt better and does not make him have green skin and yellow hair. But I don't know, something about his skinniness and his huge eyes and being on the bed (my best backdrop), he looked a little um, underage in most of the shots. ^_^; So please bear in mind as a character, he is of legal elf age. ^_^;;;;;
(and this is the only picture that turned up in proper natural colors.)
There, at last! I am done. Aren't you glad!
In other news, the old doll site is no longer and all the pictures are down. We're working on a new one!
