At his bedside Who: Derek and Stiles Where: The Hale Estate, Stiles' room When: Week 1, Thursday late night Why: Derek finds Stiles' journal and learns something about Scott. Warnings: Discussions of Stiles' slavery, mild violence.
Derek had been true to his word. Barring the need to relieve himself, he hadn't left Stiles' bedside, and had kept a hand on his skin, the healing connection low and constant between himself and the human. It meant a steady thrum of pain, but it was mild enough that Derek was able to ignore it.
Boredom, on the other hand, was much more difficult to ignore, and after the past six hours of contemplation (with a break for eating, having requested a tray with enough food for himself and the human), Derek was about ready to chew his own arm off if he didn't think it would wake the sleeping human.
He spied a Journal on the desk and, stretched until he could drag it to himself. The Hales gave Journals to their new slaves in addition to clothes, but then again, they'd never had a slave like Stiles. Never one so rebellious, or potentially mutinous. He wondered if Stiles even knew how to use the Journal.
Glancing at the slumbering human, Derek brushed over the touch screen until it illuminated. He'd expected the start up screen, but the Journal was open to an entry, as if Stiles had simply been in the middle of writing before the fever.
He scanned the contents, and was struck by several things. It was shocking enough that his hand gripping Stiles tightened unconsciously, nails growing into talons that dug into the human's skin.
