Re: Holding Pens: Jackson
Jackson had been one of a few slaves allowed to roam free because they would not run away and also his pen was on the edge of the barn. He looked up to see a handler and an elegant women walking towards him. With a look from the handler Jackson regretfully went into his pen, but didn't close the pen. He didn't want to be whipped again like the last time he tried to escape. As they neared closer, Jackson assumed a posture of a slave and knelt, his head down, and eyes to the ground.
Unlike most of the male slaves Jackson had a lose white tee shirt on to hide the scares he had received at 13. The handlers thought that they were too ugly to compete with this beautiful face.
