Buffy watched Ambrose talk with the handler, clearly more affected by his words than she would've liked to be. The worst part was she wondered if she'd started to believe him. If he wasn't a bloodthirsty killer, he was right; that would indeed be a harder pill to swallow.
She'd find out eventually, she supposed. Either he'd be everything she'd been taught he would be and she would be right, or she'd have to deal with knowing that there were vampires out there that weren't all creepy neck-biters. But Grumbles was back, and she had to put on a brave face.
"I'll miss you, Grumbles. Can we maybe be pen pals? I'll miss your stimulating conversation," she piped up, pouting her lips in an exaggerated fashion.
