"Yeah, apparently you can teach an old dog new tricks," the witch groused, though he wasn't really as anxious and pissy as he'd anticipated he would be from all the smoker, quitting, horror stories he'd heard over the years. The booze was appreciated as well since he'd been trying to keep his own drinking to a minimum for Lucien's sake as well. Triggering the kid was the last thing he wanted to do.
"I'm not what I'd call a mystical warrior or something," Emerson answered. "Haven't seen much confrontation. Not since, well, ten years ago really. But I'm pretty competent, so long as you don't go telling anybody and ruining my reputation," he added with a grin. There wasn't much hiding it now since Ambrose had kinda seen it up close and personal.
"Sparring though, huh? That what we're calling it nowadays?" he couldn't help but joke with a grin.
