"But you're forced to entrust us with your care - it's something you don't get a choice in. Therefore to abuse that trust is not in our nature." She shrugged, thinking it was the most obvious thing in the world. It wasn't a discussion she'd ever needed to have with Alice, the girl being happy with everything.
"I know my brother, and I know he would never say you weren't good enough, Stiles." She shook her head, taking his chin gently in her hands, and tilting his head so he was forced to look at her. "If you weren't good enough, he wouldn't have gone after you. I understand you're still learning about slavery - I'm sure horror stories passed on from your parents aren't exactly balanced views." She shook her head. "I can't speak for Derek, but I know I forget it at times." She hadn't missed his hesitation, of course, and smiled sadly.
"You mean a great deal to him, Stiles. You all do."
