Mitchell waited until Samandriel had finished speaking, and he was glad he did. As distressed as he was at the idea of Carrick laying his hands on his angel for whatever reason, ultimately it wasn't his decision to make, and knowing that even when he could leave, Sam wanted to stay, made the pain that had been tightening around his heart dissipate.
"Of course I'll still have you," the vampire replied, smiling through his tears. The kettle began to whistle, and he turned it off, using the excuse to turn away and wipe his face. Clearing his throat before speaking, Mitchell kept his gaze focused on the kettle. "And...I'm sorry. This is all my fault, really."
